Headshots for a new business

Joanne needed some updated images for her business, that could be used on her website. Like most women, it had been a few years since she last did professional photos.

She booked in an executive women’s session, so that she could get a range of different images.

When she arrived in the studio, our hair and makeup artist discussed with her the look that she preferred. Helen, our hair and makeup artist is amazing at getting the look just right for our clients. She understands that no all women wear makeup everyday, and is able to create a perfect natural look.

Joanne had brought a great range of clothes with her, so we could create some really great variety in the images. From my formal to more casual look. I recommend taking the time to get a range of different photos during the session. It means that the next time you need a professional photo for a presentation or talk that you are doing, you will have a number of options you can use.

Stephanie Brennan - magazine cover and feature photos

Stephanie Brennan is only 24 but she has had her fair share of media attention. Now she has been invited to be featured as a world class entrepreneur on the cover of World Class Magazine. ‪#‎worldclass‬ ‪#‎entrepreneur‬
Given such a great opportunity for exposure it was really important to get a set of professional photos together.  The key was to get a variety looks to reflect her personality but also to create variety for the magazine and still allow the magazine to select a hero shot for the cover with enough room for copy etc.

Stephanie took advantage of our "Executive Woman Package" which included professional hair and makeup and the 5 retouched images.

And below you can see the original images again as I supplied them to the client before they were cropped and edited for the magazine.

A quick behind the scenes of how we set up and lit the images on the dark background. Handpainted backdrop with a graduated center, striplight on the left as the main light and a larger softbox on the right bouncing in a large white wall just to create a soft fill on the right.  Not the traditional setup but it created exactly the look I was after.

Dentists - branding refresh - corporate headshots Sydney

Nowadays everyone had a online presence even doctors and dentists who traditionally didn't advertise as such have to bring their image up to scratch. It's a competitive market and first impressions are just as important as they used to be, however often the first impression is a face on a web page or social media page.
North Shore Dentistry in Turramurra have a fresh look that is matched by their offices and website. Check it out http://www.northshoredentistry.com.au/

The staff photos will soon be on their website too.

Curran Property - Sydney Corporate photographer

We have been with Curran Property since they began and it's fantastic to watch the team grow. Today we visited Curran Property at their office in Chatswood for a team photo as well a couple of candid action shots.

The candid action shots are a great way to show a more relaxed side of the agents at work.

Magazine cover shoot - inside SAP and Rimini Street

I was approached by Rimini Street to shoot a concept for an upcoming magazine cover. The magazine, insideSAP was going to feature my client on the cover and they had to come up with an idea fast.

The client had a rough concept in mind that would highlight Rimini Street as the new alternative for SAP support as opposed to the traditional (and more expensive) support provided by SAP.

The client was able to provide me with this image as a starting point for the concept.

Initial concept supplied by client.

From there we discussed several options that would have the impact required and get the message across.
Next we got the retoucher on board to discuss the details of the concept and what could be done in Photoshop and how to shoot the image to ensure that the scale and lighting etc all matched up perfectly in the final image.

Since this is a magazine cover we also had to be aware of the requirements by the publisher to be able to add text and graphics on the cover.

A couple of other images had to be sources from stock libraries i.e. a cityscape and a street sign. We managed to find a great image of Sydney at night.

Next we produced a mock-up for the magazine editor and the client to approve the overall design, layout and size of the final image. Once the mock-up was approved we photographed the talent or in this case my client Andrew Powell from Rimini Street in our studio.

The images where then retouched and composited with the street sign and the cityscape.

The image includes subtle details such as a weathered SAP sign while the Rimini Street sign is shiny and new. Including the corporate colours and the company tagline.

The image of Sydney in the background reinforces the local presence of Rimini Street in Australia

Once the image was delivered it was up to the publishers to work it into a magazine cover. Below is the final cover as it was printed.

The image was used again inside the magazine as part of an article.

and since the magazine is available as an iPad version you also need an image for iTunes.

4 out of 5 North Shore real estate agents use uber photography for their corporate photos

When I recently opened up the North Shore Times newspaper I was pleasantly surprised to see that on a double page featuring local real estate agents, 4 out of the 5 agents used über photography for their corporate photos.

North Shore Times, 4 April 2014

We have been trusted by North Shore real estate agents to take their headshots for over 10 years now.  During that period we have established some long term relationships with the companies and individual agents. This in turn mean that we are able to understand our clients requirements and deliver consistent results.
This in turn ensures that our Real Estate clients can present a consistently branded look and feel to all their print media, business cards and 'our team' webpages.

We often work with our clients from the beginning in order to develop a particular look unique to that client. A great example is Chadwick Real Estate, we came up with a concept together and followed through ever since to create a strong look.
