on location head shots

Surry Hills creative corporate portrait shoot - Stace & Co

I had the pleasure to photograph Vanja from Stace & Co at this Surry Hills studio.

Vanja knew exactly the look she was after. Her main brief was not to make her look like a lawyer or real estate agent but instead she wanted the image to reflect her strong confident and colourful spirit.

Stace + Co. We are a Sydney design and marketing studio helping businesses and brands get the most out of their marketing efforts.

Vanja hired a studio space in Surry Hills which has a bright and colourful look. This was then matched by Vanja's outfits.

Of course it's her smile and personality which will ultimately win over her customers.

It's always nice to see how the images are used by the client.

Formal headshot vs environmental portrait

So, what's the difference between a formal head shot and an environmental portrait? A formal head shot is usually in front of a plain background while an environmental portrait usually involves being on location in the subjects office or professional environment. By putting the subject in context, the client or customer will be able to get a sense of their work ethic, their personality and what kind of professional they are. For example, see the case below of two child psychologists with a corporate portrait and formal head shot which can be used to suit website head shots, profile images, office photographs and more.
